The River House

Since moving to Frome, just over 18 months ago, I’ve almost struggled to meet new people in the area. A little sad to admit, but honest. I’m from the New Forest, my friends and family are still there. I went to university in Birmingham. I have my best of friends located across the country from York to London. I didn’t know anyone in Somerset. I had only been to Bath once before. The whole situation was daunting and a little overwhelming.

I visited the local coffee shops and restaurants and fell in love. Especially with The River House, which still to this day is my favourite place to date. Such friendly and happy staff which I think is the best attribute to any public amenity, in fact anywhere. I felt welcome as soon as I stepped through the door, and still to this day, always greeted with a warm ‘Hello’ or ‘Hey There!’ The walls are covered in prints. The counter always has an array of handmade in-house sweet treats. They now roast their own coffee (which is fab).

I recently went for brunch, and I am embarrassed to say it was for the first time (sorry!) But boy was it good. I don’t know if the photos do it justice. Such fresh and amazing food. Please go if you’re local, you won’t regret it.

They're located at 7 The Bridge, Frome BA11 1AR. Open 7 days a week. ENJOY!

(And they also sell my cards!)
